It’s 8 pm and the sun is still shining so bright!
Temperature’s 24 degrees. Very BEAUTIFUL WEATHER today!
Finished work at 7 pm and I started at 5.30 pm. An hour and half. So pathetic. Nobody wants to eat at the restaurant cause the weather is too nice and everybody’s just hanging out in the sun drinking beer.
My computer is right by the balcony and I’m getting a tan while I’m blogging. 2 birds with 1 stone … Hehehhe!
Anyways,
Went to the YMCA to work out after my midterm just now. Free one-month membership … must take advantage
I was given the PLUS membership which is like the VIP membership at the YMCA.
The locker room for the Plus membership is different from the General one. For $100 a month, you can get a lounge with flat screen tv, hair and beauty amenities, personal locker, coffee service, personal hot tub, SHAVERS to shave ur pubes and armpits and wherever else :P, steam room and towel service.
I must take advantage of the membership until I leave for Malaysia
Oh yea … speaking of Malaysia, I’ll be arriving home on te 21st! Ah! So happy and anxious at the same time!
But now I gotta control first cause my accounting finals is in like 2 weeks >.<
Anyways,
The volunteering thing we did was on last Saturday. It was for some World Health Kids day andwe’re suppose to entertain and play with kids that day.
Hunz was suckered by Chan to be the mascot

Wearing his belly :p

Thick black fur … and shorts
oh that’s Chan btw. He’s some crazy fit Korean dude.

He’s suppose to be a lifeguard and a dog ….

and his name is Buddy

The head was so big and heavy. IT’s so stuffy inside and the fan in there wasn’t really working that well

It was his first time being a mascot. Needless to say, kids were happy pulling his tail cause they know he can’t catch them. Pay back time for all the time he pulled the tails of mascots when he was younger
Plus, he wasn’t wearing his glasses so he was pretty blind
My job was to steer him around like a dog on a leash so he won’t run over some kid

Partner-in-crime #1

Partner-in-crime #2

The dude inside the Y is a really skinny korean dude

OH! This is a real Olympic torch btw! It’s pretty heavy. The runners must be really fit to run with the torch. So cool! I’ve touched an Olympic torch!!

Once of the activities they had. The one that last the longest win some prize. The winner was a cop but he’s not in the picture

The cop is at the very end of the picture. During this activity, he actually ripped his pants LOL.

Chan got Hunz to do it too. Imagine how hot and crazy inside that suit and doing squats at the same time !?! He sure stank like hell when he removed the costume:P
WE started at 11 am and finished at 330pm. There weren’t that many kids around cause we’re in the downtown area. Mostly yuppies live here
I had lotsa fun though. Met lotsa new people too. I didn’t really played with any kids cause I think they’re scared of me LOL. Each time I say hi to them, they run away. Wtf.
Hunz made a couple kids cried cause he’s sucha big fugly dog LOL

Saw this on the way home. Damn ugly. A limo and a pick-up truck combined.
Only from GMC LOL
Okay.
I’m gonna enjoy the last few days of my free cable before the cable company comes over and put the filter in. Damnit!

During the 90 minutes session of hot yoga at Bikram’s yoga yesterday.
Went there with Mark -my accounting classmate who’s gay and extremely cute!- cause he’s into yoga and he had tried Moksha yoga before.
Moksha and Bikram are similar in practice but the difference is Moksha is not as intense as Bikram.
Bikram, which was the one we did is a 90 minutes session in a 40C heated studio. It was like being in a sauna and humid at the same time. I heard Bikram was very challenging compared to the other yogas and I thought, Hey, you know what? I’m ready.
So after class, we headed to the Bikram’s Yoga centre on 124st.
I wore my bikini bottom and a sports bra and a tank top over it.
Bad mistake.
I should have not wore the tank top at all cause it was so mofo’ing HOT, I was dripping like crazy after 5 minutes doing yoga! Thank god I had my towel over my mat cause at the rate I was sweating, the mat will be too slippery to stand on.
Most of the poses are similar to the other yoga I did before. But instead of building the poses slowly, we went into pretty deep poses quicker than usual.
I could follow the teacher for a bit until about 30 minutes later, my legs and hands start to feel numb. I was like, maybe it’s normal right? Considering I didn’t know how my body would react doing yoga in heat. So I dismissed the numbness until my face started to feel numb too. Again I thought it was normal but it was bothering me so much, I finally gave up after 40 minutes. I felt nauseas, and couldn’t control my hands and feet. I tried lying on my back for 10 minutes but it didn’t help that much. Part of me wanted to stay but the other part was more eager to leave. Then I felt my thoart tighten and the insides of my stomach were screaming to get out. I gave up. Stood up and left the room. The instant the freshair hits me, I felt much better right away. I still felt like puking so I tried doing it but nothing came out. I guess it’s just the nausea feeling but I got nothin to puke out.
Mark came out 5 minutes later. So I had 5 minutes more before I left the room. Damnit!
I asked the instructor about the numbness on my hands and feet and he said that those are signs for dehydration.
Yeah, I forgot to drink extra water earlier that day and at the rate I was sweating, no doubt it was dehydration.
And oh yeah, I drank coffee in the afternoon too and coffee is known to be diuretic!
So now I know.
Must drink 2 liters of water before you go for it and don’t drink two liters right away. You wouldn’t wanna do the warrior pose with a stomach full of water.
I’m definitely going back there again but I’m gonna do Moksha first cause it’s easier. Then when I’m used to the heat, I’ll go for Bikram again.
Despite the nausea and stuff, the uncomfortable feeling went away pretty fast and my body felt really good after.
Today my body felt a lil sore cause I haven’t worked out for a while. Got no membership at any gym cause I didn’t wanna pay for it
But I’m getting one from the YMCA for a month cause I’ll be volunteering there on Saturday for some kids event thing. Me and kids. LOL. Hunz knew he had to bribe with something to do it so the YMCA guy who recruited him, and me soon after gave me a one month free gym there.
Got back my accounting midterm marks and it’s not exceptionally good. OH well, I was one mark short from an A. It’s okay. I thought I did worst. My next midterm is next Wednesday. Ugh. Cash flow statements aren’t fun at all.
Anyways, gotta start cleaning the apartment. We live like rats and now the rats gotta move
